Bank deposits of unfriendly creditors brought under type C
From 1 June 2026, interest and repayment on bank deposits of unfriendly creditors above RUB 10 million a month are paid into type C accounts.
What it does
Decree No. 377 amended Decree No. 95 to extend the type C regime to obligations of Russian banks under deposit agreements with creditors from unfriendly states: interest and the return of deposits above RUB 10 million per month are paid in roubles into a type C account. Until then, bank deposits had been outside the regime.
Status, October 2026
In force, but narrowed two months later: Decree No. 550 of 4 August 2026 took deposits of foreign individuals and of branches of foreign organisations back out, with amounts credited to type C accounts since 1 June paid out in roubles. Deposits of foreign legal entities remain covered.
